Great food. The green burrito is one of my favorite Mexican dishes in town. They are remodeling and will reopen in early 2025

Great customer service and great food. I recommend the spaghetti pie or the chicken fundido

The food was so good and quick! The atmosphere is authentic and bright. The Olympics were playing on the TV. I also had the street corn which was also delicious. We went Saturday around lunch time and it wasn't crowded at all. New hidden gem. We shall return!

This place has very thin, crispy chips and a good thick salsa. Great service. Great for lunch.

Food was fantastic. I and a friend had two different entries. Waitstaff was great. Extremely nice inside and saw they have some outdoor dining. We split an ice cream with chocolate drizzle w/whipped cream and four cinnamon sticks with brown sugar and a little chocolate for dessert. Planning to go back for dinner soon.

This restaurant was very busy for a weeknight. However, the wait was not long and the food was prepped and delivered faster than expected. The portions are pretty large. The food was hot and fresh. There is a vegetarian section of the menu with about 6 or 7 options. The waitress was very patient with my little boys and attentive to our needs. The restaurant is pretty cool. It's newly redecorated. It definitely had the new paint smell. We will definitely visit again. Oh the happy hour margarita was pretty good! They have a nice happy hour variety that actually lasts longer than most happy hours.

Portions are huge, restaurant is new and looks clean. Food was a bit on the sloppy side. Prices are fair, chips are free Service is good but they were stingy with napkins and we had children with us. They accidentally brought pork to our table but apologized when we reminded them Fajitas definitely feed 2-3 people Most things we got feed 2 people. Food tasted good and was well seasoned but for some reason felt messy. I found random pieces of meat in my hot sauce and a lot of random ingredients kept showing up on our plates. Cheese dip was on point, a large could easily feed 6. The kids really loved it here bc they love to eat smushy messy food. We'll be back. Definitely good family vibes here! Don't eat anything 3-4 hours before coming.

YOU ARE FLAN-TASTIC! Coco, a Pixar film that arrived on our screens and in our hearts in 2017 now has a restaurant themed after it in Vestavia Hills. I was shocked I had not heard of this restaurant as I thought I was pretty much on top of all the grand openings in and around the Birmingham area. But this one was new even for me. One of the major plots and themes in the Coco film is the importance of family and keeping your family close to you. Somehow this restaurant was able to convey the same messages but in a food industry kind of way. I didn't think that was possible, but I guess the "anything is possible" phrase shines bright at least in this specific scenario. Came here with a girl friend of mine we hang out at least twice a week and always wind up finding Birminghams hidden gems without even knowing what we are walking into. Tonight we had just finished up some minor shopping at Vapor Thrift across the street and realized we needed a bite to eat before heading home. Usually I would take to Yelp to find something, but let her open Google to see what was in the area. The first picture that popped up was from Mama Coco and it was their Cowboy Steak which looked delicious. So, off we went. Nervous at first coming into this restaurant as it is a Friday night around 6:30pm, but we're able to get a table in no time. It was busy, but not yet too crazy busy. Lots of families with children of all ages here. The decor, the menus of course all had something to do with the Coco film. It was adorable. I remember us hanging a month or so ago in the area and seeing this in passing and thinking to myself "why does the name Mama Coco" sound so familiar. I had not put two and two together until the minute we had walked inside. As soon as we were seated, we were given a basket of chips and a small bowl of salsa. This small detail was great. Not every Mexican restaurant in Birmingham has complimentary chips and salsa. So if that is a deal breaker for you, Mama Coco has got you covered. The chips were crispy, with the perfect amount of salt. Salsa was juicy and packed with heat. Our waiter was a delight too. Very attentive. He kept an eye on us and was not over baring. I ordered the enchiladas suizos which were verde enchiladas. My friend ordered the burrito Mexicano. Both meals were excellent and exactly what the doctor ordered. The enchiladas were packed with flavor. Served with Spanish rice which was a little too mushy for me. I love rice, but like to have a little bit of crunch with my rice. Burrito was great too, she cleaned that plate and even ate the avocado which was beautifully displayed on the plate. Normally, she does not eat avocado, but stated that there was lot of other flavors on her plate that she did not mind eating it too! Something I feel the need to note about this restaurant is their portion sizes are pretty big. I highly recommend not eating a whole lot of food prior to your time here or you will be taking some food home as I did. Overall, great vibes, fun and energetic atmosphere, amazing food and service you can't beat. Will be happy to come back here and try more of the menu.
